Noticed

Noticed (2020 - 2022) is series of 64+ text-based paintings in black ink on gridded vellum. Each piece is a snippet of text pulled directly from current events in news sources. I began making the work in 2020 as an outlet for the overwhelming fear and anxiety caused by the events of the world. Surrounded by chaos, I felt the need to document and try to make sense of things, but found myself taking a more Dadaist approach. I broke all the traditional graphic design rules as I knew them, trusting my counter-intuition, in order to make sense of the nonsensical.
