After more than 30 years as a graphic designer, I began a studio practice centered on language. Graphic design depends on communication; this work begins where communication breaks down.
Drawing from public language, found phrases, and everyday visual systems, the work examines how the meaning of words can shift and be shaped by authority and power.
In case you care, I received a BFA in General Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and an MA in Industrial Design from San Francisco State University (SFSU) back in the day.
I live and work in the Mojave Desert in Joshua Tree, California.
