JUDY LICHTMAN has a BFA in General Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art, and an MA in Industrial Design from San Francisco State University. She has been a graphic designer since 1994, working on projects for a wide variety of clients including the Anderson Collection at Stanford University and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. 

In March 2020, after almost 30 years as a graphic designer, Judy was jolted awake by the events of our times (a global pandemic, a racial reckoning, political unrest) and began to make art as a direct response.

Judy currently lives in Joshua Tree, CA with her artist husband, James Rieck.
